
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory staff at the Marine Sciences Laboratory are conducting research using biosentinels, which are living organisms that give early warning of the presence of a contaminant of interest. Here, haemolymph is extracted from a mussel to measure the concentration of contaminants accumulated from the environment.
