The Fast Flux Test Facility (FFTF) control room is the command center for the reactor. It looks like the control room in any large industrial plant. Control room personnel at FFTF are highly qualified, having passed comprehensive examinations, and oversee the operation of the reactor and support equipment.

| Background: | The Fast Flux Test Facility (FFTF), located north of Richland, Washington, is a 400-megawatt thermal, liquid metal (sodium) cooled reactor. The FFTF was originally designed and built to test plant equipment and mixed oxide fuel (MOX, a mixture of uranium oxide and plutonium oxide) for the next generation of liquid metal reactors.
