Thermochemical Environmental Energy System is a process for converting organics in aqueous waste streams, ranging from slurries to contaminated water, to fuel gas. Exposure to high temperature and pressure in the presence of a catalyst converts the organic contaminants to carbon dioxide and methane. The product gas offsets the process energy requirements and can produce excess fuel gas, depending on the organic content of the feed stream. A key advantage of the process is that the energy requirements are minimized by avoiding the need to vaporize the water in the waste stream.
