In July 1981, staff moved into the brand new Sigma V Building. The $3 million, 42,000-square-foot building was touted as having 155 offices, a specially designed lab large enough to house five computers, a data library, two map rooms, eight full-service lab, maintenance and instrument shops, television monitors at the entrances, and an elevator equipped for the handicapped.
