Document Title: Pulse Jet Mixer Studies
Category: Environmental Remediation
Media Type: Photos
Date of Image/Photo: October 28, 2004
Background: Researchers at Battelle - Pacific Northwest Division are providing performance data for pulse jet mixer/air sparging designs intended for use in Hanford's Waste Treatment Plant. These mixing systems are intended for use in a challenging mixing environment involving slurries with non-Newtonian rheology. Using a half-scale tank containing about 10,000 gallons of simulated waste, they monitor the performance of the mixers under a variety of conditions. Work on the WTP processes is funded by a contract between PNWD and Bechtel Hanford, Inc.
