The Chemical and Biological Signature Science team at PNNL is developing next generation detectors for explosives and other chemicals through a deeper understanding of gas phase ion chemistry and ion physics. The core technologies of ion mobility spectrometry and mass spectrometry are used for detailed studies of gas phase ion reactions and behavior to provide better detection instrumentation for security applications.
