The 850 MHz Wide-Bore NMR is a high-field wide-bore NMR system and is the first and only such NMR system in North America. It is dedicated to solid-state NMR related to catalysis and energy but also biosolids and surface interactions. The system offers five commercial probes and three EMSL-built probes to support solid-state metallo-protein and bio-membrane investigations. EMSL users can use this system to complement ab initio techniques to derive electronic and molecular parameters. EMSL is a Department of Energy national scientific user facility located at PNNL.
