Barracuda is a computing cluster equipped with the latest hardware technologies anticipated to be the basis for next-generation of supercomputer architectures. Barracuda is being used to ready the NWChem computational chemistry software in order to fully utilize these new hardware technologies. Barracuda will help EMSL users tackle new scientific questions by moving toward real-time simulation, achieving greater accuracy and precision, and by integrating complex methods and dynamics. EMSL is a Department of Energy national scientific user facility located at PNNL.
