Scientists at PNNL are developing next generation advanced waste forms for immobilization of waste byproducts from the processing and reprocessing of nuclear fuel for nuclear power plants. This micrograph shows a close-up of a Pb2Te3O7 octahedral crystal suspended in a lead tellurite glass. The micrograph was captured at 100x in transmission mode.
