A close up of a pumping and loading station for transmission electron microscope gas holders in the sample preparation area in EMSL’s Quiet Wing. The Quiet Wing houses an integrated suite of ultrasensitive microscopy instruments. EMSL users apply these capabilities to high-impact research fields, such as catalysis, energy storage, subsurface science, and biology. The Quiet Wing protects against potential sources of interference. EMSL is a Department of Energy national scientific user facility located at PNNL.
